LEG ULCER CURED - 06/10/2009

Mr B had been suffering from an acute ulcer which over a 3 month period had started to expand and open up into a devastating leg ulcer - the nurse had told him there was no cure and it would never heal! Charming!

After repeated visits to his GP surgery to have the wound dressed, it really was beginning to become so excruciatingly painful and just getting worse by the week. Not only was it opening up and growing to 6 -7cm, worryingly it was also deepening inwards towards the ankle bone.

Something had to be done! Mr B came to Feel Good Factor.

We started by cleaning the ulcer very carefully (something nurses DO NOT do!) and we administered a special gel dressing and applied Manuka honey underneath an absorbant pad, along with Manual Lymphatic Drainage and finishing with compression bandaging.

Unbelievable now it has completely healed and he is no longer in any pain. His GP is extremely pleased and amazed that we have managed to achieve this!

The usual senario is that these leg ulcers get bigger and the patient is hospitalised, eventually amputation the only option!!
